Mi 11 Ultra: Full Review of Xiaomi's Latest Flagship Phone

May 24, 2021

Xiaomi has introduced Mi 11. With this launch, they have stepped up a notch. This device consists of a 50MP primary lens. It also has a humongous 1/1.12- inch sensor, and it also comes with an auxiliary camera that has been upgraded with two 48 MP modules.
Now, if you are not satisfied with that, Mi 11 has 55W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, but Xiaomi has stepped up in this department too with Mi 11 ultra. They have provided 67W wireless charging you just plug-in, and you are ready to go mind blown. We should also talk about the secondary 1.1-inch screen at the back that lets you take selfies with the rear cameras.

We just simply put Mi 11 ultra as one of the best Android phones of 2021. This phone has all it takes to go up against the Galaxy S21 ultra and One Plus 9 Pro. So now this phone is out and available outside china. Let’s take a look at what it is all about.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: Price and availabilityThe Mi 11 ultra was launched on March 29 in china for 5999 Yuan that is (950$) for the version of 8GB/256 GB version. The phone made a debut on the global platform on April 23. In India, the phone is only available in a single model of 12GB/256GB model in India and the retail price of the phone is 69,999($945).

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: Design and displayWe all want the best design for our phones. Now the one thing that is constant with all the manufacturers is that they all are giving too much emphasis on the design and display of their phones. Whether it is a Redmi Note 10Pro, mid-range with the galaxy A52, or the flagship phones like Galaxy S21 ultra and One Plus 9 pro, the phones keep getting different and different.

Xiaomi has also changed with Mi 11 ultra. They have the largest camera module that has been ever seen on the phone yet. The camera at the back dominates the design.

The camera takes most of the space. It covers 1/3rd of the space. This also has a primary display of 1.1-inch located just next to the camera housing. This tiny AMOLED screen lets you take selfies from the 50MP. I know you are excited we are too.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: CamerasThe best camera of 2021 easily. The Mi 11 ultra uses a 50MP Samsung GN2 lens. Now get ready to get dazzled by this information as this is the largest sensor to be put on a phone. It has a 1/1.12-inch module, and it has edged out a 1/1.2-inch sensor, which Nokia put in its one of the best phones that is Nokia Lumia 808 Pure view that came out nearly a decade ago. The Mi Ultra has four to one pixel binning to produce 12.5 photos by default.

Mi Ultra is going with 48MP modules with wide-angle and telephoto cameras and with them both featuring SONY IMX586 sensor. This gives the camera an extra edge of taking the Wide-angle shots with the same precision and caliber as the main sensor. The Mi Ultra also gives you an option of 5x optical zoom and up to 120x hybrid zoom, which says a lot. The telephoto lens was introduced for this purpose only. It introduces a periscope to get the desired zoom level.

The unique thing that was introduced by Xiaomi was the 1.1-inch display that sits next to the camera housing. This is a tiny thing, but it is quite a useful thing. It is used in taking selfies with the rear camera, which is a thing we all want. The only downside that you can get is that it is only available in the Photo shooting mode and not in the portrait or video mode. But you can’t just get everything right.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: SoftwareThe software that Mi 11 Ultra runs on is MIUI 12.0.2. It is basically based on Android 11. Xiaomi introduced the new software of MIUI 12.5 a few months ago, but it was not released globally. It is only limited in china for now. The Mi 11 Ultra will get this update as soon it is released around the world. MIUI 12 has its own qualities that we have known now. Mi 11ultra doesn’t come with anything extra. But Xiaomi is trying to clean things up in MIUI 12, removing the bloatware that is present in the system.

Conclusion:

We give this phone a 4/5. We have deducted the points because of the software used on the phone. We are hopeful that Xiaomi will be able to fix the issues with its software and its inconsistencies with the dynamic of 120Hz.

We compared it with One plus 9 Pro. The software seems quite nice, and the system runs beautifully. While there are still few issues with software with the Mi 11 ultra pro but the camera is still an upgrade on comparison to other phones.
